Inuit Types Featured in WP Theme Directory

April 1st, 2009

I’ve decided to test my Inuit Types theme in WP theme directory to see if this kind of promotion increases my user base a bit…I hope it does as they have a really huge base of users that could increase my merit as a WP theme designer.

But on the other hand most of their themes are very cheap looking and not advanced as premium ones so I hope I don’t get thrown in the same cheap designer pot like many others=)

Your theme is slick and professional looking, and hence you will be the odd man out in WP themes. I never look for good themes in the WP themes directory. If you wanna stay unique, better get outta WP-themes directory 😉

Thanks for sharing this on wordpress.org.

I for one probably wouldn’t have found you if it wasn’t published there.

You make great themes. I think you need all the promotion you can get, people will wan’t to hire talent no matter what.

If I may, I’d like to suggest another method of promoting yourself. Themeshaper.com home of the Thematic framework, is very good at showcasing welldone childthemes – make one and publish it here, and let him know.

I’m sure that would increase your credibility – and more importantly – number of readers.

hello! i enjoy looking at my blogs wearing this great theme and i’ts very nice of you to give it away for free.

i have a question though. i’m new to css and i’m wondering how to go about showing the full post instead of the excerpt on the main page. hoping for your reply. thank you!

I think that option is offered in theme admin panel so you don’t need to touch the code. If I’m wrong open index.php file and insert the_content instead of the_excerpt.

Hi! First of all thx for your work in this theme, it’s so beautiful. I write you because I’m having a big problem with it and instead of change to another theme I want to try a solution.
As Eycee said, It can’t show the complete post in the main page, and it shows a resume. You only can get in the complete post clicking on “read more”. I don’t know how to change that. I’ve tryed in Reading Options, but there are only that option (show the post complete or not) for the feeds.
Thank you in advance for your help, and congrats again for your great job in this theme.

I love this theme very much but I’m having issues using the custom CSS file. Any changes I make aren’t reflected on my blog even when I tick “edit custom stylesheet”.

Not that there’s a lot I’d change, but still 🙂

    Thanks again for the theme.

    Zeljan,

First, congrats for the exceptional design of all your themes. I came to your site by chance and my first thought was “Wow, and he gives these themes for FREE?!” 🙂

Next, as much as I like your designs (particularly Igloonews and Pure Magazine), I’m disappointed to find that your themes are not gettext-ready and cannot be used in multilingual site setups. It’s even more surprising, given your Slovenian name (a wonderful country, btw, had a chance to visit it this summer). Unfortunately, this is a blocker for me – i was almost settling on one of your themes, but the site I’m building has to be bilingual.

Are you planning to make your themes translatable? You should 🙂 It’ll add a lot of value.

    Regards,

RE: eycee’s question on the “excerpt” vs. “content.”

You suggested: “The idea to I think that option is offered in theme admin panel so you don’t need to touch the code. If I’m wrong open index.php file and insert the_content instead of the_excerpt.”

However, both resolutions do not work. Any other ideas?

    Thanks!

    Hey,

I love the theme, and as a low-tech user it works wonderfully, i was wondering though..

are you going to be updating the free version on WP.com at all?

I only ask, because i don’t want to pay £10 just to change the Blog name text on the front page to match the color of the design (currently white-blue.. but with a maroon heading?)..

The only other thing i wanted to ask, as i don’t have access to the html on .com, is whether you would consider separating comments/trackbacks into tabs (for example). I got my first pingback/trackback today… and while i could delete it, i like that services out there are picking it up… if they were in a different tab i wouldn’t be so visually offended by them haha…

Great work on this theme, i’ve gone through a lot to find something with the clean lines and flexibility and i’m glad i get to use it 😀

hi there! your theme is really great! however there’s sth wrong : i tried using a strikethrough html function on my post but it doesnt appear live. when i “preview my post” on wordpress, i see it, but when i visit in on my wordpress blog URL, it’s not there.
could you help please? thanks very much! lk fwd to hear from you!
PS. just a personal opinion, but i think the main header will look nicer without the “just another wordpress.com site”

Hi, I’m having troubles with the text editor of this inuit theme. When I copy & paste text via the Text or Word conversion pop-up, text appears twice (as if duplicated) in my editor, and some codes are not cleaned, even some other seem added to the content. Please advise me.

Just a quick thanks for adding Inuit to wordpress. It was just what I was looking for. Sharp clean lines, excellent typo. For me a TripAdvisor widget would have been perfect BUT as you were good enough to offer this as a Free installation then “beggars cannot be choosers”.
I hope my content pays homage to your created platform.

    Dear Mr Topić

Many thanks for your Inuit Types theme.

I use it for my blog .

There’s just one minor issue that I’m hoping you can help me with.

There’s a problem showing superscript text in posts, for example, if I write “10th” (with the “th” in superscript), the text in the line above will be pushed up creating what looks like a line break where there shouldn’t be one.

See, for example, “10th” in this blogpost: http://astraightbat.wordpress.com/2012/12/06/the-mysterious-vanishing-david-hussey/

Is there anything that I can do to fix this?

    Many thanks for your help.

    Kind regards
    SB Tang
