My previous concept, vCard theme wasn’t accepted as planned so I’ve put it away for a while and started working on new theme concept, Pure Magazine.
Lately, I got few mails from readers that were asking for WP news theme that wouldn’t include unnecessary designer graphics but pure news theme look with as little white space as possible. I’ve decided to go for it and came up with design concept you’ll find in concept images below.
Please note that this design can change as it’s just a rough sketch of its look which will be polished until it gets released.

Another great design. I have a couple of domains in mind where this design would work very well. The sites I’m referring to (though unnamed) are both large portal websites. The content is ready – we just need the design.
Looking forward to the finished product. Now I’ll check your site for a place to register so we know when it’s ready to roll.

It looks great the only thing I would change is the location of the rss icon and the styling of the date and time at the top. I don’t think the rss should be everywhere, and if you keep it in every widget then I think It should be specific to the category.

Rss icons are specific to each widget but I also think I should somehow change them to suit the overall look. You’re right on styling of date and time on top, I’ll move it elsewhere or change its look.

Very nice theme. The only thing I would criticize about it is that I think the RSS feed icons should be gray(er) so that they match the overall look and feel of the theme. What do you think?

Featured post will be static, but top stories next to it will give readers more options to read whats important at the moment.

Very nice as always.
What about being able to change one of the large category boxes on the right to 2-4 125×125 or 250 ad space?
I like the large search bar at the bottom and I can see why we need it at the top, but what about moving the large one above the fold under latest news feeds and then go with a widgetized footer section instead and remove the right search bar and make that an ad space?

125×125 will also be included as a widget which you’ll be able to position wherever you want.
Good idea about search spot positioning, I will try this out to see how it works

Excellent layout. I reckon it must be super-fast too. Are you also including the google script to enable translations from within the website? Instead of creating a new page on Google’s translation server…this would be an excellent add-on.

Will see how fast it will be,…translations will be available from admin area as in all of mine themes – haven’t tested how google script does this yet.

This looks great. There is one thing I’d love to see, and that’s a nice, solid magazine format like this, COUPLED with a forum, or some social place, so that at the bottom of each category, people could go NETWORK about the subject matter in general. Now, that would be a dream come true.

Thanks, another great concept. It is shame that vCard wasn’t accepted, i think it would be awesome for small microblogs.
