I haven’t wrote for a while but with a good reason. New year is about to become really interesting for me and hopefully somewhat successful as planned – if not, it will at least be a great journey that will make me even stronger as I don’t give up that easily.

Here’s a short summary of things I plan to do in new year:

• In January, I plan to release long-awaited BizzThemes platform, which will hopefully give me enough funds to develop WordPress themes much further. I want to give my clients platform with guarantee for further development and a support they really deserve – not just comments and emails.
• From January on, I plan to release themes on monthly basis with loads of updates to make my bizzthemes backend frame really great and a hell lot better than competitors.
• In mid 2010 I will finish my faculty duties and wrap up the remaining exams to start working on my MA study to become Master of Business Informatics. Consequently I will also leave my regular job at the Faculty of Economics to start working on WordPress projects alone.

I hope you will join me on my new ventures and support my work just as you did on BizzArtic. Here is a present awaiting you when BizzThemes gets launched, so stay tuned =)

My theme designs are getting more and more advanced so I’ve decided to gradually drop static template development and put all strengths into development with hooks (functions).

What are ‘hooks’?

• Hooks are nothing more than functions which you call in any theme file and you may do so multiple times.

Why is development around ‘hooks’ better?

• It produces much less code that is cleaner and SEO friendly.
• User has ability to modify theme files very easily by calling custom functions, adding new ones or dropping them.
• Themes have very flexible layout.
• … and themes are very easy to develop once you master development around ‘hooks’.

Which bizztheme will be first to use them?

• Pure Magazine is the first one, all other BizzArtic themes will follow.

It’s been a while since last redesign of BizzArtic blog and ever since I got lots of complaints about its dark interface. I’m not a big fan of dark styling but I though white letters on black background are easier to eyes than vice-verse → now I’ve proven that’s not really true. I hope you like new interface as it’s very clean and intuitive.

Things coming soon on BizzArtic blog:

• Support forum + Integrated payment for forum access
• Bidding for my latest themes before they’re released (this means one of you may get exclussive rights to my future themes before they are released and sell them further or use for personal purposes)

Just a few months ago I thought releasing best free themes would be enough to compete in tough environment of WP themes, including premium ones….But as always things aren’t that easy so I’ve decided to up the ante with some major steps in my blog development:

• BizzArtic will get a full redesign – even simpler, brighter and more intuitive.
• Paid services offering integrated on my blog (I did promise that a lot but this time it’s for real – nothing special, just list of paid plans for my WP development services)
• Collaboration forum for users who’ll use my services
• New innovative themes so stay tuned for new releases

After long consideration and my endless impatience I’ve decided to put my blog look away. I’ve done it for following reasons:

1. I want to concentrate on design for others and don’t want to bother with mine thus I’ve thrown away a few bucks to get a professional WordPress Theme that would do all the magic for me
2. My design wasn’t ugly, but it did have some bugs that took me some precious time
3. My clients design and content will be put on first place
4. Easy and effective ad management
5. And again I really want to concentrate on work for others

And for the records, theme I am currently running is called Fresh News and is a product from Woo Themes. I didn’t buy this theme directly from them,…instead a friend has bought a develper licence before and sold me a theme for a few bucks.

Please be patient still as this look will get updated regularly and upgraded with featured it had before:

• Board section (projects, strategy, lifestream etc.)
• Tips-for-Tips section (my commercial services)
• And more…

Like I promised Tips-for-Tips has been entirely transferred to tips.bizzArtic.com. I have done that for many reasons, which I will explain a few lines later. New website design has been inspired by my previous tips page on my blog and some other websites:

Now let my briefly present what has been changed in relation to previous Tips page.

• I have added customized footer of web page to explain more about services I offer.
• Added some appealing facts from recent social study  2008 Cone Business in Social Media Study.
• Gave 10% OFF for first 5 customers that sign on
• Explained more about WordPress I use in sidebar widget
• Striped pages from all unnecessary links, content, images
• Changed AdWords advertising to new targeted location

Reasons for change

• My previous site that is currently still active http://bizzartic.com/tips-for-tips/ was build inside my blog that doesn’t necessarily talk just about my freelance projects from Tips section. Thus customers might get confused and get impression they encountered some cheap service.
• Next reason is that I want to have custom wordpress accounts built just for customers, so that data doesn’t get erased while I update my blog (that is quite often).
• I am also preparing affiliate programme for users to recommend my services and get paid for it. I have a plan in my head but it is still quite buggy as I also need to go through some various scenarios (e.g. how to pay users, how they track their earnings etc.). I am willing to pay 10% of the final price that customer pays to me so if you have a customer for me already, we might strike a deal even before affiliate programme launches. Just contact me on my web mail.
• SEO also improves as the site is dedicated to specific terms of use, so my  meta tags will be much more compliant with content. In other words, search engines will target my tips site as a website dedicated to web development services with no blog posts to distort its specific terms of use.

I personally think my logo is now looking quite nice, but in order for you to get full point of view (it also rhymes:) what work was behind it, I’ll paste a few snapshots from my hand-drawn ideas and design drafts.

After that I’ll also paste some comparative images to show how my bizzArtic logo got darker after finding just the right color to match my eyes…
