After a while this my first theme released under BizzThemes platform and it’s a very proud moment for me. It looks pretty minimalistic and simple, which was the purpose – although it has really a lot of features that will not let you down when you’re eager to present your work professionally.

Pure Magazine Theme is finished, the only thing remaining now is to find the best owner for it. I’ve decided to auction this theme because I want to make it more exclusive and of course earn sth from it. You now have opportunity to use it exclusively on your site or sell it forward to wider audience. It will be provided ‘out-of-the-box’ so you may resell it the same day you get it.

What will winning bidder get?

Full copyrights over theme, which means rights to use for personal purposes or resell theme to wider audience under your own brand.

What happens if nobody bids for it?

I’m in no hurry to sell it and I won’t hesitate to release it free of charge on BizzArtic blog.

Do I need to pay to participate?

NO, payments will be accepted only from winning bidder after auction is over so anyone may participate.

Service agreement (boring stuff):

Payments will be accepted via PayPal but you may send money through any form of payment PayPal accepts.
Theme will be sold as GPL licensed theme so winning bidder must also use the same license to resell it.
Theme will be provided as-is with no guarantee whatsoever (third party plug-in compatibility etc.)
I will provide 1 hour of development support for customization of theme files for free, other theme customization requests will be charged $19.90/hour.
If winning bidder does not send payment for theme, it will be released free of charge – bidder will also lose all chances to collaborate with me in future.
Before theme is sold I have all rights to do whatever I want with it, except providing its code to others.

Rask, which means fast in Norwegian, is now in its beta stage and is shaping out nicely. It was created as answer to need for efficient team blogging platform as well as simple blog alternative to micro-blogging systems like Twitter.

This is currently my best theme in terms of features and theme admin panel options, which are really simple to use and have nice toggle divs that make editing content faster and easier. It is totally new in terms of code as I’ve decided to get unified framework for all of my themes.

Breaking News in Igloo Theme

Today, new Igloo theme has been released, it’s version 3.1 now! Another major feature was added, Breaking news option and some other enhancements + bug fixes. Breaking news are quite complex and I’ve had lots of headaches over this feature. Posts that are labeled with ‘breaking news’ category appear in 3 steps:

Small Alert box (this box will be visible for 12 hours)
Breaking News box (it looks like featured posts on homepage, this box will be visible for 7 days)
Breaking News Post is turned into normal one and is listed among regular posts (this happens when breaking post is more than 7 days old)

Other new features + bug fixes

Revised Feedburner management (you can now choose which feedburner server you’re using: http://feedproxy.google.com/ or http://feeds.feedburner.com/)
Fixed Footer page management
Improved Top page drop down

Breaking News in Igloo Theme

Igloo News 3.0 Released

Finally after few weeks of tweaks new version of Igloo came out. My main focus was on standardization of all elements, thus I’ve validated all my code (W3C) and made it compatible with WP theme requirements. I could take it to their repository but I’ll still wait a bit to get some feedback from you.

In this release no plugins are needed whatsoever,…from now on I just recommend them as major ones are now embedded into theme functions.

Some new features were introduced:

Relative Dates in Comments – new
Choose Blog Title over Image logotype -new
Total Feedburner Management – new
Show Feedburner Feed Counter (Chicklet) – new
Custom Control Panel – new
Exclude Categories/Pages from header – new
Include Pages in Footer – new
3 layouts to choose from – new
Option to hide Top Categories and Sidebar Tabs – new
Embedded AdSense Support – new
Child Pages Ready (up to 4 level drop-downs) – new

And design improved:

Cleaner design
Shadowing of top boxes
Introducing new layout (2 column boxes)
Better image border effect
Fixed Widgets Design

And typography upgraded:

Better H1,H2,H3,…H6 look
Better Code Highlight
3 level bullets and numbering
Better paragraph and line spacing

Also some features were dropped:

Center Widget – It was ugly
Custom Bookmarks – Much better plugins are out there

Igloo News 3.0 Released

I’m Concentrating on WP Themes Development

Nowadays I’m pretty busy with development of recent WP Theme called “Igloo“. It is my first theme but nevertheless aim is to beat other guys that are developing commercial “premium” themes for money. I respect their work and really hate the fact that selling themes is so tough these days but if I want to make my way into wonderful world of WordPress, sacrifices are needed. Don’t get me wrong as I’ll never sell Igloo theme for money and probably not any other theme that will be product of BizzArtic – your success will be my payroll.

What’s On Next?

In few days I will release new update to Igloo theme that will be a major one. There will be lots of new features and optimization tricks but most importantly theme download will be transferred to Wordpess Themes repository. I will do this as my aim is to get largest possible audience and hopefully more recognition. If this move proves to be wrong (because rare is still more exotic:) I will pull it out.

Next on the table is standardisation of Igloo theme core that will be used for development of future themes. I won’t promise anything, it all depends on success of next release. If it doesn’t attract at least 200 downloads per day I will concentrate only on Igloo theme, sorry.

I am really thrilled to release new version of Igloo news theme. This one is really big update as it took me a few days to fix all bugs and pixels and to implement new features that will fit with new WordPress 2.7 Coltrane.
